EXPO 2015: logistics & tickets

After many doubts, questions and endless speculation and information, Milan is ready to welcome the millions of visitors expected to take part in the EXPO 2015.

The exposition’s main theme this year is food, with the slogan “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. Interested in coming to Italy and visit EXPO 2015? Here are a few tips.

The EXPO site is located in the outskirts of Milan, close to the Rho exhibition center. The EXPO area, which is a true city indeed, is well served and easy to reach, whether you’re arriving from Milan or from the main airports, railway stations or highways.

The reference point is the underground stop of Rho Fiera, newly named Rho Fiera Expo Milano 2015 (red line M1 – you have to buy the extra-urban ticket at the price of €2.50 – one way); the exit of the underground station is only a few minutes walk from the exposition.

If you are arriving by train you can get off at the train station of Rho Fiera Milano; a special service schedule will be in force throughout the EXPO event, and the railway station is very close to the underground station.

Just landed at the airport? You can take a shuttle towards Milan and get on the underground, or use one of the direct transport services linking the airport to the exposition (both from Malpensa, Linate and Orio Al Serio airport).

The organization team suggest not to drive directly to the EXPO site in order to traffic jams in the area which will surely increase for the whole duration of the event (anyway, properly worked out parking areas will be available).

The EXPO exposition is open 7 days a week, from 10.00am to 11.00pm.

The prices of the tickets change according to the age and the entry mode. You can buy the tickets online on the EXPO official website (http://www.expo2015.org/en/tickets) or at the authorized ticket offices. (please note: the online purchase only allows to pay by credit card). If you are going to visit the exposition, we suggest you buy the ticket as soon as possible!

Stay tuned!
